Algeria will not know its national properties total before 2017: Finance Minister
Algerian finance minister “Karim Joudi†confirmed on Thursday, that census operation concerning Algerian lands survey which started in 2004 is due to expire in 2017, pointing out that the National Statistics about land survey had started for the first time in the seventies and had stopped for 30 years because of financial, technical, and security reasons, to restart again in 2004.

Finance minister explained in a reply to a question by a member of parliament that the operation of land survey (southern and high lands areas) representing 95% will end in 2010, as for northern areas 5% will end in 2017 because of this operation’s complexity.

“Karim Joudi” revealed that the preliminary results of this process are very weak, because it did not exceed 8.5 million hectares, from the total of 238 million hectares.
