Algeria will not revise current exchange rate of its Dinar : Algeria’s Bank

Bank of Algeria officially rejected the International Monetary Fund's request which consists in reconcidering the Algerian dinar’s exchange rate based on what the IMF described as the Algerian Economy good performance with a high levels of exchange reaching 150 billion dollars.

• Bank of Algeria said the studies and assessments periodically carried out on the exchange rate’s policy showed that the price of dinar almost balanced in the long run and the current status of the exchange rate allows investors to take a clear picture and make strategic decisions in long-term investments.
• The Board of Directors at the IMF said  “ the appreciation of real effective exchange rate is difficult in the case of Petrolium Exporting Countries”, urging Algeria to conduct the file in a flexible way to allow the lifting of productivity and economic diversification.
