Algerian Communication Minister Abderrachid Boukerzaza Tuesday announced the withdrawal of accreditation from Reuters and AFP's correspondents in Algeria as they reported false security information.

“The first procedure after summoning the correspondent is the withdrawal of accreditation,” Boukerzaza told journalists.

“The reporters admitted the gravity their responsibility for what they did,” he added.

Previously, Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem told journalists a final decision on the agencies’ correspondents would be made on the basis of a report prepared by the communication minister in this regard.
