Algeria’s airports increase taxes on flight companies
Taxes on airport services were increased starting from Saturday including flight, car parks, shops and reception facility taxes.The new price list which is meant to increase the airports’ incomes and improve services came into force this week.
The new procedures oblige all flight companies which take off from Algiers, Constantine, Annaba (east of Algiers), Oran, Tlemcen (west of Algiers) and Hassi Messaoud, Ain Amenass, Tamenrasset, Janet (south of Algiers) to pay 400 Algerian dinars for each passenger. Flight companies which take off from other airports to a domestic Algerian airport have to pay 300 dinars for each passenger.
Flight companies which take off from Algiers, Constantine, Oran, Hassi Messaoud, Bejaia (east of Algiers), Ghardaia (south of Algiers), Tamenrasset, Jabet, Tlemcen, Annaba and Chlef (west of Algiers) will have to pay 900 dinars tax for each passenger.
The companies which take off from the rest of Algerian airports to a foreign one have pay 600 dinars.
The new instruction stipulates to increase the car park charges in the airports to 840 dinars. New taxes were set on land or buildings annex to airport public proprieties.
The new measures request from shop owners which have an administrative aspect in airports to pay 8,410 dinars for each square metre in international airports per year and 4425 dinars in domestic airports.
Owners of shops which have an industrial and technical aspect will have to pay 6,640 dinars for each square metre in international airports per year and 3,625 dinars in national airports.
