Algeria’s government scraps certificate clarifying young job seekers’ situation towards national service

The Algerian government has adopted a string of fresh measures aimed at easing the recruitment procedures for young job seekers without being stymied by the red tape and bureaucratic machine notably on account of their stand-by situation vis à vis the national service.To this effect, the head of government has addressed a new circular, abrogating the previous one of January 25th 1997, to all the national public enterprises enjoining them not to demand any longer, from young job – seekers, the delivery of a certificate pinpointing their situation towards the national service.

This measure is aimed primarily at regulating the labour market and curbing the unemployment phenomenon notably among the youth population, eager for a stable job.

Thousands of young people have been dismayed in their rightful quest for a job on account of this famous certificate demanded by administrative bodies and public enterprises.

Thereby, the government’s decision to suppress this certificate will certainly boost the chances of new job opportunities for the benefit of unemployed young graduates who will henceforth be recruited without any administrative hurdle.
