Algeria’s Touareg better than counterparts in neighbouring states

A meeting on new security threats in the African Sahel which was held in Biskra province (South of Algiers) last week ended with some recommendations such as theoretical frameworks research which are the most appropriate with threats nature. The recommendations also involved the exclusion of everything that comes within exaggeration and media speech in addition to revision of Algerian official and security institutions methodology on the basis of the logic of pure human considerations and national interest.

Those recommendations have summarized a set of interventions by doctors and university professors from the country’s various regions for two days. Despite speakers’ disagreements, the meeting was serious and treated realistic topics. They call for strengthening security system across borders and getting rid of African problems for Algeria which wasted –according to them- much of the old continent and suffered lot from its problems in this context.

“Touareg” theme and their role in Sahel region is one of the themes highlighted by the audience during the debates. An intervention focused on describing the “Touareg” issue as “regional problem» which is originally supposed to be an internal problem of neighbouring countries with fragile security environments. On the other hand,  the intervening participants believe that Algerian Touareg have better conditions than their counterparts in neighbouring countries in power.
