Algerian Ancient War Veterans to benefit from Pension Increase by January 2013

Algerian ancient war veterans who were forced to join the ranks of the French army during World War II and Indochina , will benefit from a significant increase in pensions of up to 10%, in the beginning of next January, and the settlement of all outstanding issues, for the war veterans who deposited demands about their rights, and did not receive a reply from the French authorities.

Reliable sources from the center of war veterans told Echorouk hat the French authorities decided to review the grants of Algerian veterans who were forced to join the ranks of the French army in its war against the Germans and Indochina, by up to 10% starting from next January.

As the French Defense Ministry rushed to settle all files of persons who were forced to join the wars of Franc, and whose number exceeded 10.000, and their relationship remained outstanding, especially with regard to the grants, as the ministry ordered the examination of all files, that were deposited at the level of its services, or at the special services of ancients war veterans, case by case, and to report all the eligible files, to take advantage of grants and privileges that were allocated by the French authorities for those work for the benefit of “the French flag and fought side by side with the army, and who have a war veteran’s card, or certificates of recognition or what is known as a “certificate of ancient war veteran”, or a copy of the individual book, which was spared by the French Secretary of State for ancient war veterans, as the book should be accompanied by a status document.

French Defense Ministry, had allocated under the Finance Bill for the current year, more than 90 million euros, addressed to the equation and the settlement of the grants between ancient war veterans and ancient French soldiers, which doubles the value of the financial envelope of the years 2013-2014 for up to 125 million euros.
In a related context, Echorouk sources added that the French embassy in Algeria, received instructions from authorities, ordering the need to accelerate the process of calling Algerians who possess grants of military retirement, which is paid for workers, who serve over 15 years, or to their, to reopen the office that is specialised in this regard, in order to take advantage of re-evaluating the points of grant, before the end of the first half of 2013.
