Algerian and Italian police vow to fight against illegal immigration

80 policewomen, who followed 9 month training at the republican forces units, yesterday presented for the first a wide range of exercises in the field of the fight against terrorism and rapid intervention.

  • On the sidelines of his official visit to Algeria, the Italian police Director General seized this opportunity to take part o the celebrations organized on the occasion of the Algerian police Day.

  • Some 1000 policemen performed four types of self -defence exercises and other general ones covering various aspects of their apprenticeship, in which a woman squad took part for the first time ever.

  • High profile personalities including cabinet members lead by the deputy interior minister Dehou Ould keblia took part to these celebrations.

  • A protocol accord has been signed between the Algerian police Director general and his Italian opposite numbers dealing with security cooperation. For his part the Algerian police Director General Ali Tounsi has noted that this accord consists in fostering cooperation in the field of intelligence and expertise exchange as well as intensifying the fight against illegal immigration and money laundry.
