Algerian army attack terrorists in Tizi Ouzou

Algerian military troops positioned in the dense forest region of “Yakouren” ( 150 km east of Algiers ), on Thursday launched a large offensive against a terrorist group which comprises more than 15 elements.

According to well informed sources, the operation was carefully planned by the military units, following an ambush set up against the terrorists in this area.

The same sources added that military forces exchanged fire for more than an hour with the same terrorist group last week in the same area.

The terrorist group used heavy weapons including machine guns and rocket launchers and was due to engulf in the southern parts of the dense forest of “Yakouren” before being stopped and forced to retreat by the national army troops.

So far, nothing has been revealed concerning the outcome of the operation.
