Algerian Army General Gaid Saleh visits the « Red Zone »

Algerian Chief of the Army Troops, Gaid Saleh, went on Tuesday to Tizi Ouzou province (east of Algiers) in a surprising visit of inspection to the region, which is said to be the main stronghold of the GSPC terrorist group.

• The Army top Commander chaired a meeting with the army officers of the region for more than two hours, in the presence of the first military region commander in Blida province ( east of Algiers), in addition to the military sectors’ commanders, and the gendarmerie commanders of the central provinces.
• A military official described the visit as “normal” and told Echorouk that this visit came in the framework of  field visits undertaken by the various military officers. Salah Gaid went previously to Jijel province (east of Algeria and held a coordination meeting with the fifth army commanders.
