Algerian balance sheet in green
Algerian balance sheet witnessed a surplus amounted to $ 22.62 billion during the first semester of the year 2008, compared with $ 14.98 billion during the last year’s same period recording a rise of 51.07 percent , according to estimates released by the national poll and information center.

The same source added that the bulk of exportations reached $ 40.54 billions with a rise of 44.86 in comparison to last year, while the importations were estimated at $ 17.91 billions with arise of 37.7 percent.

Algeria is still depending exclusively on hydrocarbons for its exportations as they account for 97.8 percent recording a rise of 44.85 percent in comparison to last year.
