Algerian border guards bust Moroccan illegal immigrants with huge sums of money

In a large –scale operation designed to fight against illegal immigration, the Algerian border guards last Monday intercepted 7 Moroccan illegal in the western parts of the country ,carrying huge sums of money.

Sources close to the inquest revealed to “Echourouk” that the money  seized is now under close scrutiny in the scientific laboratory to establish whether the “Euros” and “Dirham” (Moroccan currency)  found in the possession of these immigrants were fake or not. The source declined to reveal the exact amount of the money asserting that “it was a tremendous one”.

Security was raised to the maximum in the western borders with the setting-up of several checkpoints and the use of cutting-edge technologies to reduce the smugglers’ activities. These measures resulted in the abortion of various “big” attempts to smuggle drug and shady and counterfeited spare parts destined to the Algerian market, as well as huge quantities of fuel going the other way around.

In an inspection visit to the western borders, the chief of the national gendarmerie has called on his elements to keep alert, knowing that there fears that many terrorists from Morocco who intend to join the so called Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb based in Algeria .

To recall, Royal Air Morocco decided to increase its flights towards Algeria soon after the announcement of the Moroccan foreign affairs minister his country’s will to open the frontiers between the two countries.
