Algerian Child's Murder: French Justice opens file of “Amer” this month

The case of the child “Amer”, who was killed in Alma in Setif (eastern Algeria), will be brought back to the fore these days, after the French justice programmed it for September, 24, as it will prosecute the accused for 5 days.

This trial will be exciting and an opportunity to retrace the events of the heinous crime, that began by kidnapping an innocent kid, then asking for a ransom to free him, and ended by his assassination with an ugly manner. ‭

Events of the case back to January, 27, 2007, when the child Amer,11, went out of his father’s house in the district of June 19 in Alma. He was playing with his friends when a tourist car stopped and took him to an unknown destination, and after a long absence of the child, his family members proceeded in the search to no avail, then his father received a mobile message requesting a ransom of one Million dinars for the release of the child.

The father did not believe the message at first, but with the acceleration of events he discovered that his son was kidnapped, then he decided to call the police that started the search, but on the next day he received tragic information that security services found the body of Amer dumped at the entrance of Tizi Nbashar located upstate Setif.

The incident shook the entire city, and when investigations begun, one of the victim’s relatives who had dual nationality, and left home to Tunisia and then to France, was charged of the crime. But after the issuance of international warrant, he was arrested by the French police, after hearing him, he was jailed in which he is still detained until this day, by contrast, a team of INTERPOL moved to the city of Alma and restarted the investigation, and programmed the issue at the court of St Etienne in France, where the trial will take five days, which means that the French justice want to consider this issue carefully, as all parties were summoned, including the victim’s parents, who waited for five years to hear the verdict.

It is worth mentioning that there is a French association specialized in the defense of childhood that was founded as other party, and entrusted a lawyer for pleading in favor of the victim’s family, as it is also mentioned that this issue addressed by “Echorouk” timely, raised controversy among the local and French public opinion, especially since it was published in some French newspapers.
