Algerian Consulates overseas refuse to deliver passports to Algerian emigrants with no residence permits
The Chairman of the European Federation of Algerian Assemblies, Mr Nourredine Belmedah, has affirmed that Algerian diplomatic representations abroad are refusing to deliver official documents including passports to thousands of Algerian emigrants now living overseas with no residence permits.
- Mr Belmedah told “Echorouk” that the Algerian Consulates were still persisting in their logjam attitude despite the firm instructions and guidelines issued to them by the state secretary in charge of the Algerian community settled abroad, Mr Halim Benattalah.
- Mr Belmedah indicated to this effect that the relevant Federation had sent an exhaustive file to Mr Halim Benattalah expounding to him in detail the pressing grievances and concerns of the Algerian emigrants now being left in the lurch, he said.
- He added that Mr Benattalah would be fully informed of the baffling logjam our emigrants are now facing in their vain quest to get official documents because of the creeping bureaucratic methods in force in several Algerian Consulates overseas.
