The Ports’ National Unions Coordination threatened to go on strike again and paralyse all the activities in case the transport minister, Ammar Tou, doesn’t access to their will organise a meeting with the view to discuss their social and economic problems.

  • The coordination denounced the minister’s indifference and his total disregard to the Dockers’ doldrums since his anointing on top of this sector.
  • During their Tuesday’s meeting, the Unions’ general secretaries focussed on two main points including the transfer of the maritime equipment to the hydrocarbon Shipping Company HYPROC, a company affiliated to the giant oil group Sonatrach.
  • The coordination reiterated its objection against the privatization of the Algerian ports, notably the managing of Algiers’ containers terminal by the emirates group “Dubai ports.”
