Algerian education minister ready to help private schools
The Algerian education minister, Abu Bekr ben Bouzid declared that substantial increases in the teachers’ salaries are on the cards, adding that this sector benefited from adjustments that varied between 6,000 to 10,000 Algerian Dinars.
Talking in a radio program the minister mentioned the outcomes of the various changes initiated by his sector at all levels, which led to an unprecedented rate of success in the first Baccalaureate of these policy.
He also talked about the establishment of a national commission in charge of the supervision of the 2009 Baccalaureate which is due to meet on May 15,16, 17 to evaluate this year’s program in order to elaborate the topics of the 2008 baccalaureate.
Among the other issues that the minister raised, the readiness of the Algerian authorities to allow people to open private preparatory schools and assist them in all fields .
He also talked about illiteracy and said that Algeria will, within 10 years from now, erase completely this problem.
