On the sidelines of the opening proceedings of the national forum for education directors, the education minister Abu Bakr ben bouzid slashed at the catastrophic outcomes registered by the private schools in comparison to the public ones.

  • The minister staunchly denounced these results referring to an example where pupils were found playing in the schoolyard during the school hours declaring” parents are squandering huge sums in private schools ignoring that their children were playing instead of learning”;
  • But his critics didn’t spare public institutions as he revealed that two public schools recorded 0% of success in the exams declining to reveal the names of these institutions.
  • The preparations for the next academic year took the lion’s share in the minister’s address to the directors insisting on the importance of deploying extra efforts to succeed in the operation, and have to work 12 hours a day because their vacations depend on the outcome these preparations.
  • At the end, the minister insisted on the next year’s timetable which, he said will not exceed 26 hours a week putting the stress on the obligation to dedicate 15 minutes to teach moral values daily.
