Algerian education minister vows to encourage teachers from the north to settle in the south
Ben Bouzid

Talking yesterday from Al Agouti (southern Algeria) the Algerian education minister Abu Bakr Ben Bouzid has declared “I don’t care who wears the Hidjab (veil) or not what matters for me is that everybody is concerned by sports examination except those who present medical certificates”.

  •  He seized this opportunity to raise the problem faced by the French language teachers in the south saying “ I will not abandon the idea of giving housing teachers coming from the northern parts of the country into the south to teach the French language” … “ The era of terrorism and persecution against  French language teachers is over and it’s  crucial for our sons to learn this language”, he added.
  • Abu Bakr Ben Bouzid has reassured the future candidates for the baccalaureate exams that the laureates will not have any difficulty to access the university, announcing the number of 120 thousands of additional places allocated to the sector for the next academic year.
  • He indicated that there will be only one baccalaureate in the future as opposed to the current system of examination which includes four baccalaureates, adding that the examination centers will be equipped with air conditioners.
  • During his tour across the southern cities, the minister has revealed that the academic year was completed in May 25.
