Algerian education ministry to limit curriculum to May 15th

All courses delivered from May 15th onward will not be taken into consideration in 2008 baccalaureate exams, Algerian education minister Abu Bakr Ben Bouzid told Echourouk .

He indicated that the committee, set up 6 months ago by the ministry, in charge of the supervision of the program has concluded to limit the curriculum to May 15th.

On the sidelines of his visit to the province of Souk Ahrass (eastern Algeria),the education minister talked announced a series of measures to be implemented next year in order to improve the quality of teaching, notably the lightening of the program in terms of content and timetable.

M Bounbouzid asserted that the committee will present its assessment during the meeting slated in Oran (western Algeria ) on April 22nd, in which it has been decided to stop the program on May 15th and fix the date of the baccalaureate exams on June7th.
