“Algerian fans in state of shock after Algeria's awful setback versus Malawi”
The Algerian fans were utterly dismayed at the 3 – nil defeat suffered on Monday afternoon in Luanda stadium by the Algeria line-up versus a surprising squad of Malawi as part of the first match of he 27th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament currently hosted by Angola.
-
A large number of Algerian fans got in touch with the newspaper “Echorouk” to express their bitter disappointment and lashing anger at the dismal performance of the Fennecs versus the willful Malawi squad.
-
Most of the fans said they did not understand such a debacle and heavily criticized the players and national coach Rabah Saâdane.
-
They lashed at the counter-productive tactical scheme adopted by coach Saâdane and his rash decision to incorporate certain off form players whose performance during this decisive confrontation versus Malawi was described as “pitiful” and “shockingly bad”.
-
They notably blamed goalkeeper Fawzi Chaouchi for being responsible for 2 goals taken by the Fennecs as well as the disorganized defense line for committing glaring blunders in the face of the thundering Malawi strikers.
-
Many disappointed fans reproached coach Saâdane with failing to devise an efficient strategy notably in the midfield and forward lines plunging the whole squad in a “fruitless and anarchical” style of play especially during the first half of the game during which the Fennecs sustained 2 goals which could have been avoided, they hammered angrily.
-
They blamed the players of not knowing how to roll with the Malawi “punches”, as they sadly put it.
