Algerian FM: Libya has apologized to Algeria
The Libyan authorities have officially apologized to their Algerian counterparts over the attack that targeted the Algerian embassy in Tripoli last Sunday night by a group of overzealous individuals, in the wake of the disqualifying of the Libyan football squad by the Algerian side from the upcoming African Cup of Nations slated for 2013 in South Africa.
- The Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci has declared” A Libyan delegation moved to the Algerian embassy in Tripoli to apologize for the attack carried out by a group of individuals who ransacked the Algerian diplomatic representation right after the end of the match that opposed the countries”.
- The Algerian diplomat has indicated that Algeria has vehemently denounced such acts through its ambassador in Tripoli, noting that the Libyan authorities rushed to send representatives to the embassy in order to apologize.
- Medelci has previously declared that what happened will not affect the diplomatic ties between the two brotherly states, adding that the Algeria is ready to assist the future Libyan government .
