After its tough victory over the Senegalese side as part of the fifth round of the first leg of the joined African and world cup competition, the Algerian defender Aantar Yahya gave his impression to our reporters in this interview.
-
How was the match?
-
-
It was a tough match since we played one of the best Africa teams and came to Algeria in order to cling to their first place; they dominated the events in the first half but the second was much better for us.
-
-
What were the coach’s instructions in the first half?
-
-
He told us not play aerial balls and put it on the ground even if the pitch was not as perfect, in doing so we scored three goals.
-
-
Can we say that Algerian squad has definitely secured its qualification for the second leg?
-
It’s hard to predict because many things can happen in he next match , we have to defeat Liberia at hole in order secure our qualification regardless of the result of the match opposing Senegal to Gambia.
-
-
But you are counted out for the next match
-
-
That’s what worries me, I was hopping to take part in the next confrontation against Liberia, but I’m banned. Anyway I’m wholly hearted with my team’s mates and looking forward for a victory.
-
-
Tell us about your goal.
-
What matters for me is the victory against Senegal, as to my goal I simply did my job the most important thing is to carry on this winning streak.

Senegal’s star Al Hadji Diouf : “our defence is frail”
-
-
The Senegalese star, Alhadji Diouf declared that the fact that his team was defeated by three goals at this level means that much is left to do because the defenders committed several mistakes.
-
-
But he added that things are not wrapped yet in this group and his team is very confident “ We do not believe in miracles in football, I feel that our team can top the group”

The Senegalese coach Lyamine dyaye : “the greens deserve their victory”
-
-
The former professional player and present coach lyamine Dyaye hailed the Algerian players’ performance and the efforts they deployed to catch up the score in the second half “ The greens deserve their victory as they took advantage of the mistakes our defenders committed”, adding that thing became complicated in this group.
