Algerian Football Federation Officially Requests A Hearing At The Court of Arbitration For Sport
A source close to the Algerian Football Federation told Echorouk about the response of the AFF to the inquiries of the International Court of Arbitration for Sport on the issue of deducting points from the balance of Algiers club Chabab Belouizdad at the beginning of the current football season.
In the detailed petition that was sent to the CAS on Match 20, the AFF focused on only two points. The first, in terms of form, indicated that the management of Chabab Belouizdad club submitted the appeal to restore the three points after the legal limit exceeded, and the second, in terms of subject, the response of the bodies of Zatchi and Medouar, was the absence of Algiers delegation from the stadium of August,20,1955, to face the club Djamiyat Ain Melila in the first round, which was scheduled on August 11, 2018, and waited for the referee to meet the legal deadline (quarter of an hour), after the start of the game, to end the match with the guests’ victory, and therefore three additional points were deducted from the club.
Another source revealed that the management of Belouizdad contacted, on Tuesday, the International Court of Sports, to formally request a date for the trial session, as the members of the board of directors wish to meet the AFF and the leagues representative in Switzerland, in the first week or the second of next month at most.
Chabab Belouizdad’s officials have evidence of the team’s delegation presence in the stadium during the match against Djamiyat Ain Malila club, in video and audio, contrary to the response of the AFF and the Professional League’s claims, which keeps the hope of achieving the dream of restoring points.
An official of the Algiers Chabab Belouizdad club expressed his displeasure with the rumors about losing of the case against the AFF and the Professional League in an interview with Echorouk on Tuesday, but the false news may have a negative impact on the public and the team in general during this sensitive period of the season.
It is worth mentioning that Chabab Belouizdad filed an appeal to the Algerian Sports Court, the end of last year, but the latter rejected the case in form, prompting the team’s officials to resort to the International Court of Sports in Switzerland, hoping to restore three points that may save the team from falling to the second division.
