Algerian Football Federation’s president: Mehdi Lahcen will play to the Greens

Before leaving to Saudi Arabia to attend the extraordinary meeting of the Arab Union, the president of the Algerian football Association (FAF) Mohammed Raouraoua has chosen Echourok to take the veil off some lingering questions at the national level , including the likely joining of the Spanish club, Santander, player Mehdi Lahcen to the Algerian national squad in addition to preparations of the “Greens” ahead of the African and World Cup of Nations tournaments.

• Lahcen’s passport confirms his official selection   
• After the reactions that followed the news of the joining of Mehdi Lahcen to the Algeria squad, the president Raouraoua has officially announced the arrival of the player after issuing an Algerian passport for him as a proof of his commitment to his mother country”  After issuing an Algerian passport to Lahcen, I officially announce his commitment to the Algeria squad and he will play for the Algerian flag in the international competitions. The coach Saadane has expressed his will to join him to the team and thanks God we convinced him to do so and we are expecting a lot from him”.
• The professionals welcome him because he is a top class player
• After a supposedly negative reactions expressed by some professionals over the selection of Racing Santander’s player, prompting some to expect the repetition of the crisis that broke out amid the “Greens” in Mexico 1986, after the call up of BenMabrouk, Harkouk and Medjadi, M Raouraoua has strongly denied the existence of opposition to the coming of Mehdi lahcen saying “ I have talked to all the professionals and nobody expressed his veto; on the contrary they all welcomed the move because they are convinced by his talent”.
• Antar and Boiugherra are not against him
• M Raouraoua has indicated that neither Antar Yahia nor Bougherra were against the coming of Mehdi Lahcen” I have got in touch with both Bougherra and Antar Yahia and they didn’t express any objection as to the joining of Mehdi Lahcen; they had a positive reaction that’s why I’m astonished to hear that some players are against his coming because all of them are convinced that he possesses big qualities”.
• The president went on saying that Algeria’s squad gates are open to all the players who can offer a plus “ The national squad’s  gates will never be closed to the players who can add something because Algeria belongs to all Algerians”, he said.
• All the players will join the training camp on December27, including Bougherra
• Mohammed Raouraoua has indicated that all the players will be present in the training camp slated for December 27, including Celtic’s defender Madjid Bougherra” The law is clear, all the professionals have to join their respective national squads 14 days prior to the kick off of the competition”.
• We will play Serbia on March 3 and maybe Italy in South Africa
• The Greens will play versus the Serbian squad on March 3, at 5^th July stadium here in Algiers their preparation for the South African World Cup competition, the president has revealed. As to the friendly versus Italy during the Greens’ training camp in South Africa prior to the world cup, M Raouraoua has indicated that negotiations are underway to reach an agreement.
