Yesterday's fans are today's rioters

Coaches and Heads of Algerian Football Clubs agreed that postponing matches of the championship is a wise decision in order to stop destroyers and preachers of sedition, following the acts of vandalism and riots that erupted in several Algerian cities, protesting, as some have claimed, against the high prices of food stuffs, or what has been wrongly termed “Revolution of oil and sugar”.

Algerian Football officials call for placing the national interests above all else, and thinking about the future of young people pushed to protest in the street in order to express their demands using uncivilized and violent ways, which damaged public interest of Algerians.

They also said that reviewing the preparatory programs and deal with the delay is only a secondary thing in front of the duty to cut the way of those who try to fish in troubled waters, and exploit the situation to pass and serve narrow personal interests.

The National Association had decided on Saturday to delay matches of the first and second professional championship from January 10 to February 10, due to the events of riots and vandalism which occurred in several provinces.
