Algerian football squad faces counts many injuries for next match

Celtic Glasgow’s midfielder, Brahim Hamdani will be counted out for the second round of the preliminary heats for the world and African cup competitions slated for next Friday here in Algiers in a match opposing the Algerian squad to the Liberian side.

• Rays’ tests detected a muscular strain in the player’s thigh which forced him to quit the pitch before term against Senegal. It is most probably that Hamadani will not be able to take part in the next match against Liberia for the period is too short for a complete recovery.
• For his part, the defender Antar yahya is still suffering from the crossed ligaments forcing him to take a rest to get ready for the next match. But his case was judged not serious by the medical staff and will be ready for the competition.
• The Algerian squad will perform training sessions daily at Tchaker’s stadium in Blida (40 km from Algiers) at 7 P.M   to move to a nearby stadium on Thursday to allow the visiting team to train on the main pitch.
• This one will play the Algerian squad with low spirits due to the draw conceded at home against Gambia. The match was played under extreme pressure in Monrovia where more than 8 Liberian fans died I stampedes during the match.
