Algerian football squad shows optimism ahead of the match against Gambia

Algerian football squad Monday resumed its training session at the Olympic stadium, pending the next international encounter against the Gambian side slated for Saturday, as part of the third round of the preliminary heats of the World and African cup competitions.

• Monday’s session brought together 15 players with the absence of 7 professionals due to join their mates late at night. The same line up that took part in the previous match, was selected for the next one except the return of both defenders Mahdi Meniri and Madjid Bouguerra and the defection of Nadir Belhadj and Hamadani, who suffers injury, but was asked to travel with the team to Banjul.
• With the return of both Meniri and Bouguerra among the squad,  this one will travel to Banjul with 22 players uplifting the Algerian squad coach’s spirit who grew very optimistic as to the final outcome of the match against Gambia, which lost precious points at home in the previous match against Senegal forcing it to a draw score.
• This result favors the Algerian squad which comes at the second position after Senegal with three points whereas Gambia takes only two points taking the third position.
