Lazio’s international Mourad Meguenni was yesterday slightly injured in his foot in a bustle with dozens of enthusiastic fans that flocked to welcome him in his home town of Ouled Hedadj (Algiers suburbs) on a visit to his relatives.

The player paid a flash visit to his native town soon after the historic victory versus Zambia and was warmly welcomed by the community on spot. The local club fans’ committee gathered all ressources to organize the event.
-
He was in the company of his uncles and relatives with who he spent his childhood before moving with his parents abroad.

Mourad Meguenni was agreeably surprised and moved to see large crowds from different corners of the town filling the streets to see their idol. He seized the occasion to break fast among his relatives, and then went to the local stadium where he exchanged warm words with fans and took photos with them.

Mourad Meguenni was extremely happy at this warm welcome but was upset to read some articles in the newspapers that reported that he was not happy for not being picked up among the starting lineup.
