Algerian forces eliminate 190 terrorists in 2013
Over 190 terrorists were eliminated at the national level between January and September, Head of the legal aid cell for the application of the Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation, Marwan Azzi, said on Sunday at Al Moudjahid newspaper’s forum.
“In January 2012, 48 terrorists including 29 were eliminated during the Tiguentourine terrorist attack in Ain Amnas – Illizi, and the number of terrorists who were eliminated between 1992 until 2006 are more than 17.000 terrorists, according to statistics of Gendarmerie and security services”.
“It is important to apply the Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation to combat terrorism. The control operations have not stopped yet and have remained constant. There is a need to strengthen the “work of intelligence” to be able to abort and contain terrorist operations before they occur”.
“Intelligence work contributed largely in avoiding many terrorist operations”.
Regarding the file of the missing, the head of the cell called some associations not to exploit this for political and personal purposes that may prejudice the interests of the country.”
Families of missing persons are 7144 families that were recorded in the services of national security and gendarmerie, pointing out that until now about 7000 families of them was offset.
On the other hand, Azzi stated that another 24 terrorists had surrendered during the year in various cities of the country, including Tlemcen, Skikda, Illizi, Boumerdes, Adrar and Khenchela”.
Regarding the terrorist operation that targeted Tiguentourine site, he said, the operation was attributed to a “multinational terrorist organization” that aimed to “destabilize the security and stability of the country.”
