Algerian forces kill commander in the Salafist Group

A special unit of the Algerian army troops killed the so-called “Belaidi Ahmed” also nicknamed “Souleiman”, 53 year-old head of the medical committee in the Salafist Group of Preaching and Combat “GSPC” in the second zone (central regions). 

• This terrorist is also leader of the terrorist group’s elements. He was chosen by Droudkel, leader of the GSPC, in order to activate the terrorist operations in the region after the series of the military operations which led to the dismantling of the group’s remnants.
• Sources told Echorouk that a special unit, belonging to the Algerian army troops killed Saturday at about 6:40 PM terrorist “Belaidi Ahmed” nicknamed “Souleiman” inside his house in Yesser, east of Boumerdes locality, east of Algiers, and recovered his 15 machine-pistol.
• Same sources reported that the terrorist’s movements were monitored after information about his family’s visit, living in Yesser. Army troops besieged his house and security forces asked him to surrender several times because they knew there were seven women, including his wife, children and grandchildren inside the house. When he fired shots using a pistol and tried to escape from the roof army troops killed him immediately.
• Terrorist “Ahmed Belidi” is one of the most ancient terrorists who started their activity in 1993; he worked in the health sector and joined the GIA Islamic Armed Group 1993 in the second group before he joined the Salafist Group.
