Algerian Government adopts new measures to boost employment
Algerian Minister of Employment and Social Security, Tayeb Louh

The Algerian government has promulgated a set of new measures aimed at rejuvenating the employment sector for the benefit of long- time job-seekers aged between 35 and 50.

To this effect, the employment and social security ministry has sent a note to the walis or governors of the country’s 48 provinces expounding the new regulations pertaining to employment incentives adopted recently by the Belkhadem government.

The walis or governors are thus expected to work out an overall strategy aimed at creating new job opportunities for unemployed people, mostly the youth in their respective province.

Several employment agencies are also called upon to bring their effective contribution to notably guiding and orientating young job-seekers in their ardent quest for stable employment notably through micro-credit incentives and other means.

Contractual employment for a defined period of time has been devolved upon the national solidarity ministry in order to streamline the ongoing governmental efforts to curb the scourge of joblessness   in the country.
