Algerian government to hike civil servants' salaries and indemnities

The general management of the civil service is expected to start, as from next May, the implementation of a revised salary scale for the benefit of civil servants in consistence with new regulations adopted by a government.

Over one million and a half million workers of the civil service in several sectors including those of health, education, vocational training, customs and civil protection will benefit from salary increases starving from the beginning of next May.

The government decided to speed up the implementation process of the new regulations for the benefit of the civil servants in expectation of the effective promulgation of the new salary chart for the civil service all sectors taker together, by virtue of the law published in the official gazette in July 2006.
