Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem

The Algerian government has adopted a string of new measures aimed at regulating the laying of speed bumps on the country's city roads in a bid to curtail the risks of accidents.

The new regulations, worked out jointly by the ministries of the interior, transports and public works, became more than necessary in order to put an end to the long-running anarchy, over the helter-skelter laying of speed bumps on city roads.

Henceforth, all speed bumps will be laid by a qualified personnel, in keeping with well-defined norms and in spots deemed mostly appropriate, in a bid to face up to any contingency and to ward off the recurrence of anarchical situations as witnessed in the previous years.
