Algerian government will declare war on advertising services anarchy: Communication Minister Boukarzaza
Boukarzaza

Communication Minister “Abdelaziz Boukarzaza” revealed on Thursday that the draft law about the organization of publicity and advertising services will be submitted to parliament in the near future to put an end to the general anarchy in this sector.

  • He said, in his reply to a question by a member of the National Assembly for Market Regulation Strategies in Algeria, that “ the draft law is in the final phase” in his ministerial department and “ will be presented to the legislature body in the coming weeks”, adding that the new text takes into account all the changes and developments that happened in Algeria during the past ten years.
  • “Boukarzaza” said that the new text is considered a second initiative to “update” the first draft of advertisement law which was done between 1998.1999 and that remains pending at the council.
  • He said that this bill aims at freeing publicity activity, ensuring transparency and protecting consumers from any abuse using international standards measures.
  • He estimated this sector’s revenues during the last year 1680 billion centimes, including 1300 billion centimes for the public and private press, while advertising revenues that have been broadcasted on TV and national radio are estimated at 322 billion centimes.
