Algerian Illegal Immigrants severely beaten by Bulgarian cops
Algerian illegal immigrants were subject to harassment and inhuman treatment like beatings by the Bulgarian police at the temporary detention due to their hunger strike which they decided to launch to protest against the tragic circumstances of their daily living inside the detention, causing dangerous injuries for six of them.
Illegal immigrants who lived the incident, which copy was sent to Echorouk, said that Bulgarian police forces has dropped a coin that was usually delivered by illegal immigrants to guards for receiving a meal, and ordered one of the Algerians to take it from the ground, but the Algerian detainee refused, considering it a humiliation and insult, which led to clashes which developed into confrontations where Algerian detainees suffered severely beaten with batons, and police used tear gas, and the abhorrent racist phrases by the police during the assault.
According to information available to Echorouk, the Algerian Embassy in Sofia sent a strongly worded message to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry after dispatching a special team to the center, where it was found that the pledge made by the Bulgarian Interior Ministry is a thing, and what happened on the ground from humiliation, insult and severe beating is everything else, as the Algerians were attacked and were terribly beaten.
