Algerian joint forces eliminate nine terrorists in the steppe region of northern Sahara

Algerian joint forces including ANP troops and gendarmerie eliminated nine terrorists belonging to the dangerous terrorist group which has its strongholds in Boukhile Mountains.  

• The process overseen by the Commander of the military and operational sector of Msila, in the steppe region of northern Sahara of Algeria, came as a result of the intelligence work, which tracked the four terrorists and lured them to the region of “Selim” southwest of Msila (123 km from the locality), which was chosen because it has a low population, and an open terrain as well.
• The process, according to reliable sources, resembles the previous one which took place in “Oueltam” in Bousaada, west of Algeria, in terms of selecting the place.
• The same sources told Echorouk that the operation started at 20:30 pm, where the joint forces set up an ambush at the entry of “Selim” in Msila, west of Algeria, after luring the terrorist group using an assignment element. The terrorists were on board of a white “Kangoo” car coming from “Boukhil” mountain through the region of “Bir Elfadda” on the national road n° 89 to an unknown destination.
• Their car was bombed once it settled up at the entrance of the region, an RPG rocket destroyed their Kangoo car and nine terrorists from “El Mouhadjirine” battalion were killed.
• Two leaders from the same battalion, “Albar Ahmed” and “Albar Mostafa”, nicknamed “Abou Lokmane” ,  were eliminated a month ago.

• Identities of the eliminated terrorists are still unknown, thing which needs the DNA analysis.
• The joint forces recovered 12 Kalashnikovs and seven grenades. The same sources told Echorouk that these terrorists escaped to “Boukhil” Mountain where the Algerian forces imposed a siege. 
• « El Mouhajirine » battalion belongs to the so-called terrorist group « Protectors of the Salafist Preaching” in the central region, operating at Biskra, Msila and Djelfa, in the steppe region of northern Sahara. “Boukhile” Mountain is the main stronghold of this battalion under the command of “Abou Elhaitham Allaithi”, and the military leader in charge of the terrorist attacks “Abou Katada Al Afghani”, who is also in charge of training the terrorists in the battalion, which have increased its activity in the last two years after a brief truce in the region.
