Algerian migrants living overseas end Algeria holidays, laden with tonnes of local products
Algerian migrants

The Algerian immigrants settled abroad took the opportunity of their 2008 summer holidays in Algeria to indulge in a buying spree covering numerous local products notably household appliances, clothes, shoes and even basic foodstuffs.

  •  Tonnes of these multifarious local products were purchased by the Algerian immigrants, thus giving a solid boost to trading activities notably in the capital Algiers and other provinces of the country.
  • Taking advantage of the high value of the Euro in comparison with the Algerian Dinar currency (12 Dinars for 1 Euro approximately), the visiting members of the Algerian community living abroad, notably in France and elsewhere in Europe, made enormous purchases ranging from air conditioners, refrigerators and cookers among other household appliances, in addition to clothing and staple commodities made in Algeria.
  • Most of these frenzied expatriate buyers found the prices on the Algerian market very affordable and enticing compared to those in force in most European countries,
  •  This prompted them to indulge in massive buying in Algeria at the end of their vacation period here.
