Algerian minister to visit Italy and Spain for illegal immigrants’ bodies

Algerian Solidarity Minister Djamel Oueld Abbas said Wednesday he will pay an official visit to Italy and Spain next week to work out solutions for illegal immigrants’ bodies.

• Oueld Abbas will hold working sessions with Algerian community’s associations and will meet officers at consulates and embassies to exchange information on the issue, he told Echorouk.

• They will agree on necessary money for the transfer of the bodies to Algeria and their burial, he added.

• The minister also said the government asked president of European Federation of Algerian Associations Nourredine Belmedah to meet concerned authorities in Algeria. They agreed on preparing a detailed report on the situation of Algerian illegal immigrants who died on the sea.

• Algeria has no exact figures on the number of illegal immigrants who were killed on the sea or in European countries.
