Algerian national attempted suicide in Spain in the wake of an aggression against his wife

An Algerian illegal immigrant has attempted to commit suicide when he climbed a tree in one of the squares of the Spanish city of Melilla to denounce the silence of the authorities and the interior ministry over the assault against his wife in the transit center.

The aggression caused the loss of the lady’s five month baby. Moreover, he has been also attacked inside the same center.

Sources from the Algerian immigrants associations based in Spain have revealed to Echourouk that the Algerian national, Bettache Lkheir lives with his wife and five children in the center located in the town of Melilla.

The man has filed a suit on November 8, forwarding a certificate delivered by a medical examiner in which he complained over the attack against his wife inside the center causing her the loss of her baby.

The Algeria associations based in Spain have vehemently denounced the Spanish authorities’ disregard of the complaint lodged by the Algerian national, despite the fact that the attack was carried out inside the illegal immigrants’ center. The have called on the Spanish authorities to open an inquiry at earliest.

The Spanish website “ Norte Afrikia” specialized in the Algerian and Moroccan communities’ issues, have posted a photo showing the Algerian national climbing a 15 metre tree trying to commit suicide.
