Algerian nationals in France due to protest by the Algerian flight company’s premises

Several associations representing the Algerian community in France have a movement of protest nearby the Algerian flight company ( Air Algérie) premises to denounce the high prices applied by this later, as a flight ticket between Paris and Algiers costs 500 Euros.

  • This policy has prevented thousands of Algerian nationals from joining their home country to spend the holy month of Ramadan among their families, especially that this religious occasion coincides with the summer season this year.

  • A joint communiqué issued by the Association of Air Algérie customers and the Movement of the Algerian Citizens Established in France, posted on their respective website, vehemently denounce the price policy conducted by the Algerian flight company and call on the Algerian nationals that live in France and most specifically in Paris to participate en masse in the movement of protest slated for September 18th due to take place nearby the company’s premises in Paris.

  • A source has revealed to Echouorouk that the Algerian authorities didn’t take into account the various grievances sent by these two associations to both the transportation minister and the minister of state in charge of the Algerian community abroad Halim Ben Aatallah as well as the Air Algérie’s General Manager Mohammed Essalah Boultif.

  • The same source has suggested a special program that includes additional flights during the period between August 15 and 25th linking the French airports of Paris, Lyon, Lille and Marseille to Algiers , Oran and Constantine.

  • They have also called on the relevant authorities to reduce the taxes at the airports. A move that positively affect the ticket prices and will reduce them to a level of 200 Euros, it said.
