Secretary General of the National Rally for Democracy (RND) opened fire Thursday on those who criticize the law on religious rites practice for non-Muslims saying that “Algeria does not need lessons in religions respect.”

“My party does not accept exaggerations outside and fallacies inside”, said Ahmed Ouyahia.

He added that the law is not in contradiction with the Constitution and the United Nation’s convention on civil and political rights. “The best way to protect religions is transparency.”

The RND’s leader mentioned three points his party is concerned about: strikes in Algeria, prices hike and the slow public investment which will affect the foreign investment.

On the other hand, he believes that there are five positive points in the government’s performance such as the positive results in the one-million homes project, pay raise and employment new measures.Ahmed Ouyahia said the party’s status would be amended so that women’s membership would be extended in addition to the handling of other systematic gaps.
