Algerian player Ziani to the Algerian fans : trust us… and you won’t regret it

The Algerian playmaker Karim Ziani has yesterday given an interview to Echourok thorough which he called on the Algerian fans to forget the latest setback registered against Ireland and rather concentrate on the upcoming match versus Slovenia regarded the first important phase in the world cup tournament.

• Echourok: How is the mood, ten days before the first match of the World cup?

• Ziani: as you can see, we are doing our preparation in a good environment and everything is ok so far, I think that there is no problem as concerns work and we are waiting for another opportunity to evaluate our potential during the upcoming friendly versus the United Arab Emirates.

• Echourok: The Algerian national squad have for sure, forgotten the 3 to nil defeat versus Ireland, isn’t?

• Ziani: of course yes, that was a mere friendly match no more, and don’t know why some have focused a lot on it because what really matters is the World cup and the fist match versus Slovenia. I consider that we are about to prepare a much more important tournament than any other friendly match and the coach is aware of that, don’t worry about us; the Greens will be ready for the major competition.

• Echourok: But the fans feel expressed concern about the last four defeats in a row?

• Ziani: They don’t have to; you have mentioned the latest setbacks, for instance versus Serbia many key players didn’t take part to the match, Algeria cannot be compared to Brazil where in case of unavailability of three or four players the general outcome is not spoiled, even the big teams are affected by the absence of their key players.

• Echourok: What do you think about the new players?

• Ziani: The group is wonderful and nobody can deny it, they will make the future of this team and are able to give a lot to Algeria.

• Echourok: Some say that the duo Ziani and Boudebbouz can make a difference?

• Ziani: Boudebbouz is atop class player and everybody acknowledges that, the most important thing is to serve the country and make a good showing in the world cup tournament.

• Echourok: What about your personal performance?

• Ziani: I think it was honourable, I played normally during 70 minutes but my performance turned down but this is normal, I’m looking forward to enhance it during the upcoming friendly versus UAE.

• Echourok: what do you expect from your participation to the world cup?

• Ziani: Firstly, to be at the level of the expectations, to honor our country and why not to ease through the second round since we have made a good preparation for.

• Echourok: What‘s your promise for the Algerians ?
