Algerian PM orders governors to spend less expenses

Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia, issued an instruction to all governors Algeria in which he asked them for more austerity in spending funds.

PM Ouyahia called for the opening of provincial restaurants to reduce dispelling public money earmarked for organizing demonstrations.

The Algerian PM’s instruction stressed the need to pay more attention to citizens’ concerns by local elected officials and not to spend money on some additional expenses such as eating and buying mineral waters.

Latest report of the ministry of interior confirmed that 1,541 municipalities out of 1,280 are financially defected. The value of this deficit reaches 29 billion Algerian dinars, equivalent to 65 percent of the deficit value attributed to bad management and public money squandering. That means 18.850 billion DA deficit is caused by those who are locally elected locally.
