Algerian PM orders Justice Minister, Gendarmerie and Police to investigate on corruption
Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.
Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia, issued an instruction on July 13th concerning study of corruption files and investigation on all kinds of violations in financial sector as well as public funds squandering.

Ouyahia ordered the General Director of National Security Department and the Gendarmerie’s General Commander to execute this instruction.

“I assign Justice Minister to inform all judicial authorities and courts to pay great importance to cases relating to public funds squandering and prejudice to public property,” said Algerian PM.

“I order General Commander of the Gendarmerie and General Director of the National Security Department to inform all sectors under their authority to reactivate all teams responsible for investigating in economic and financial cases,” he added.

80 billion DA of tax evasion in Algeria

Algerian Finance Ministry estimated the amount of tax evasion in Algeria at more than 80 billion Algerian dinars. That is the equivalent of $1 billion while revenue taxes in Algeria are paid mainly by workers. Because of that, an essential part of wealth and society are not subjected to the levy.
