Algerian Portsmouth’s player Nadir Belhadj, uncertain about his future

It seems that the future of Portsmouth left winger born to Algerian origins Nadir Belhadj, is at stake after the sacking of the coach Tony Adams following a streak of mitigated results that relegated the club to the red zone in the Premier League.

  • Relationship between the two was a privileged one, as Tony Adams weighed on the balance in the player’s transfer from his former French club, Lyon to Portsmouth and was asserting in many occasions that the player had a huge potential.
  • Adams (42) was appointed Portsmouth‘s coach last October in replacement to Harry Rednap who moved to Totenham Hotspurs. After a good start in the premier League, Portsmouth slipped down to the 16th position one point ahead of the t First Division facing relegation.
  •  The last defeat at home to the leader Liverpool  (2-3) forced that club’s managers to take the decision to end Adam’s contract “ The priority of the club is to stay in the Premier League and we feel that  the coming of a new coach will give us a better chance to fulfill this goal” they said
  • One of the coaches that would most likely replace Adams is the Israeli Avram Grant who was three years ago the club’s manager before moving to Chelsea for one season crowned by a final at the European Champion’s League.
