Algerian posts will close 2 million inactive accounts soon

The Algerian posts services will start withdrawing the old credit cards and delivering 5 million new ones containing secured chip not prone to hacking or copying as of next March.

The operation will pave the way for the use of the credit card as a modern tool for the other financial transactions not only for withdrawing money because it contains the customers’ banking identity data, while more than 2 million other accounts will be closed soon.

The interbank monetary director Mrs Ben Triki has indicated to Echourouk that the new posts credits cards will be similar to the bank credits cards as they contain state-to –the- art electronic chips impossible to hack even if the secret code is revealed.

The Algerian posts general manager Mohand laid Mahloul has indicated to Echourouk that the renewal of the credit cards will be done automatically in addition to the change of all the automatic telling machines
