French President Nicolas Sarkozy Monday ended the « suspense » about Algeria’s participation in the Union for the Mediterranean summit due to be held on July 13 in Paris.

Sarkozy made the announcement after a long meeting with President Bouteflika at a Group of Eight summit in Japan.

“President Bouteflika asked me to make the answer public. He will be present in Paris for the Union for the Mediterranean summit,” Sarkozy told journalists.
