Algerian President Bouteflika calls for international accord for clear distinction between people's resistance and terrorism

President Abdellaziz Bouteflika has called for the drafting of an international accord outlining the real definition of terrorism to distinguish it from the legitimate resistance waged by oppressed peoples against foreign occupation.
The head of state also stressed the need of bolstering the national charter for peace and reconciliation in order, he said, to block the way to blind extremism embodied by the hideous scourge of terrorism.
In a message read out on his behalf at the opening session of an international symposium on terrorism on Saturday in Algiers , President Bouteflika said that the civil society should upgrade and adapt its means of action in the light of the objectives of the international community aimed at efficiently fighting terrorism.
Such a struggle, stressed Bouteflika, implies all necessary measures notably the vast resources of the civil society, the Media as well as a sincere and all-out cooperation of all the world nations eager to stamp out this nefarious scourge once and for all.
