Algerian President Bouteflika confers with Algerian athletes in Pekin

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika paid a visit to the Algerian delegation participating in Beijing Olympic Games, soon before the kick off of the competition.

• He was warmly welcomed by the delegation in one of Regent’s hotel rooms before being hailed by the delegation’s members.
• In his address to the delegation, the president declared that he was there to show his support for the competitors few hours before the start of the competition. For their part, the athletes seized the opportunity to take photos with him.
• The head of the Algerian Olympic Committee, Mustapha Berraf declared that the president’s visit reflects his interest for sport in general and pushes the athletes to do their utmost to honor their country.
