Algerian President Bouteflika in Japan to take part in G8 summit
The President of the Republic Abdellaziz Bouteflika is expected on Monday in Japan where he will participate in the summit of the group of the 8 most industrialized Nations, commonly known as the G8.

The upcoming summit which will take place on the Japanese Island of Haikodo will last 2 days, starting from July 7TH.

The Algerian head of state, who received a formal invitation from Japanese Premier Yasoe Fokodo, will seize the opportunity of the summit to sensitize, once again, the G.8 leaders to the imperious necessity of assisting the African continent, through the NEPAD project, embark on a genuine policy aimed at anchoring Africa in a new era of development, progress and prosperity after so many decades of backwardness and turmoil.

In addition to the NEPAD project, the G.8 leaders will also tackle several topical issues including the world food crisis, climate change and biodiversity.
